Nicole met Jennifer in Hawaii, where she lived for 11 years before moving to Tampa, FL two years ago. She started running in Hawaii while she lived in Hawaii, she says it was “peer pressure” and that Hawaii, like Tampa, is a super active community with lots of runners, triathletes, and the kind of weather that lets you be outside all year long.
Her first race was the Aloha Run, an 8 mile charity event. Once she finished that race she decided a full marathon wasn’t as crazy as she thought and she ran the Honolulu Marathon a short time later.
Nicole is originally from Wilmington, DE and works as a Middle School special education teacher. Her “wonderdog” Keko made the move to Tampa with her and she loves being in the water. Boating, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, and kayaking are all favorite ways to enjoy the Florida weather.
She says “I think it’s the small things in life that can have the biggest impact, and I’m excited to be fundraising for an organization that really does make a difference for people who need help in their fight against cancer.”
